About Me
Hello! I am a paper artist and bookbinder of British-South Korean origin working across installation and sculpture which explores themes which encompass hybridity, tradition, migration and preservation which relate to ‘the cultural other’ and specifically about my mixed heritage.
Craft also plays an important role in the making of my work, often involving traditional skill centred techniques such as origami, natural dyeing and bookbinding.
My installation based practice is based on working with communities as co-creators, drawing from a shared skill base and re-imagining histories and stories for new audiences.
I studied Textiles at Glasgow School of Art and graduated from a degree in Fine Art at Newcastle University in 2007.
I make work to commission and have work private collections in Scotland, Italy, Australia, Japan and USA. My work has been featured in books and magazines and was included in Book Art: Iconic Sculptures and Installations Made From Books (2011). I have exhibited across the UK and Internationally including BALTIC39, Globe Gallery,BALTIC Gallery of Contemporary Art, Gallery North, Taiwan University Gallery.
In 2020 I launched an online course website to share my knowledge of bookbinding across the world.

There are many ways you can work with me. Use the contact form to send me an email about your project or exhibition and I’ll get back to you. Here are some examples of how you can book me for work:
Mentoring. If you’re a new graduate or early career artist and would like to be mentored by me, get in contact to let me know your needs. I open my diary for mentoring clients twice a year.
Community Workshops. I work with arts organisations and charities to deliver workshops and community projects to the public and local communities. Send me an email to book me for your venue.
Private Workshops. You can hire me for private workshops in Bookbinding and Origami at your house or venue. Great for birthdays or creative celebration events. Prices start from £20 PP.
Exhibitions. I am interested in showing my work in galleries, museums and non art spaces. Send me an email if you’re interested in my installation and wall based work.
Commissions. I am also available for commissions. They are usually listed on the website however if you have a bespoke requirement for an artwork or installation please get in touch.
Bookbinding. If you have a book project you would like me to work on, send me an email. I can teach you to make the book yourself or I can bind the book for you. No project is too big or too small.
